EMPIRE GREEN BIOFUELS AND SENECA WHITE DEER INC. FORGE AGREEMENT FOR FUTURE WILDLIFE TOURS OF SENECA ARMY DEPOT

WATERLOO, NY -- Pursuant to working out the legal parameters to purchase 4500 acres of the former Seneca Army Depot’s designated Conservation/Green Energy Area from the Seneca County Industrial Development Agency for construction of an ethanol plant, Empire Green Biofuels, Inc. (Empire) has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with Seneca White Deer, Inc. (SWD) to conduct public wildlife tours on the premises.

Tours will be coordinated between SWD and Empire with most tours running weekdays and holidays.  It is too early in the process to discuss tour details, according to SWD and Empire officials but it is anticipated that tours could start after construction of the Ethanol Facility is nearly complete sometime in 2008 or 2009.

The white deer group held successful tours of the depot in October 2006. People from across the United States took the hour and a half bus tour to catch a glimpse of the white deer that make-up one of the largest herds of white, white-tailed deer.  Other sightings included brown deer, wild turkeys, and various species of birds and wildlife found in abundance at the depot.

“It is important to develop this project as one of the “greenest” ethanol plants in the country while also maintaining the ecosystem and wildlife habitat within the depot,” said Ejnar Knudsen, Executive Vice President of Cilion, Goshen CA.  Cilion is the parent corporation of Empire Green Biofuels, Inc.

Knudsen added that Empire has been in negotiations with the Seneca County IDA to develop a viable plan to maintain the wildlife habitat and to conduct research on various types of grasses and trees that can serve as feedstock for the ethanol plant.

SWD Board Chairman Dennis Money commented that when Empire builds its proposed visitors center, SWD will be a coalition partner and will assist in providing educational and wildlife programs.  The coalition agreement is conditioned upon Empire’s successful receipt of all necessary permits to undertake construction in 2008 or 2009 of the ethanol plant, biomass steam production and biomass plantings, which will include willow trees, switch grass and other organic cellulose materials.

“We are pleased to be selected to partner with Empire Biofuels on eco-touring within the depot,” said Money.  “Opening up this unique habitat to the public we feel will create a renewed interest in wildlife and green area conservation, plus the added bonus of viewing one of America’s treasures: the Seneca white deer herd; one of the largest of its kind in the world.”

Certainly, the MOU between Empire Green Fuels and Seneca White Deer is a giant step in the right direction to conserve the unique and bountiful resources of the Seneca Army Depot and to allow touring. However, don’t forget that until Empire obtains all its permits and invests at least $75 million into the construction phase, the deal between Empire and the Seneca County Industrial Development Agency to buy the 4500 will not happen. Therefore, SWD will continue to monitor the situation and keep the public apprised of any problems and or progress.

Regarding tours in 2007, it is unlikely any tours will be conducted in 2007 at this time but if things change we will this information on the website.

Thanks everyone for your continued support.
